Smuggling Bus Driver Attacks Police Officers And Flees

Police in Bulawayo on Wednesday arrested a bus driver, Thubelihle Ndlovu after they found him in possession of an assortment of smuggled goods.
Ndlovu was the co-driver of a bus that belongs to Regional Transport Bus Company. The bus was carrying a smuggled Ford Ranger engine, fridges, shoes, handbags and two bales of clothes among other items.

The bus driver, who has not been named, reportedly escaped after he tried to attack police officers. ZRP said in a statement:
On 15/09/21 at around 1600 hrs, Police in Byo arrested Ndlovu Thubelihle, the co-driver of a Regional Transport Bus Company, and recovered an assortment of smuggled goods which include one Ford ranger engine, 4 Samsung fridges, 4 Defy fridges, 48 pairs of ladies shoes, 2 bales of various clothes, 24 handbags, 11 pioneer car radios, 3 paramount amplifiers, 1 double bed, 6 window frames, 6 door frames, 21 doors, 2 new washing machines, 20x20 litre palm oil, 1x5 piece JVC home theatre, 10 landline handsets, 20x4 kgs extra light body filler, 5x5 kgs extra light restoration filler, 2x12 kgs clear gloss paint, 1x12 bronze paint, 2x6 kgs clear paint, 4x5 kgs body filler, 13 muscle stretchers, 20 carpets, 40 rollers and various groceries.
The driver of the bus escaped after he tried to attack Police officers. Investigations are underway.
